Sometimes I am very good at keeping track of what I am working on… and sometimes I get things half done and then get distracted by the next shiny thing. I spent a few days putting a look together, took another day or two to get the pics processed… and then… oh hey, what’s that over there…….
So when I looked at my own flickr stream today, and realized that this fun look I put together hadn’t made it to my blog, I put it at the top of my to-do list. It began with the PXL Luthien skin; though I decided not to go with a look that represents the half-elf the skin is named for. You see, I really wanted to wear the ripped Blowpop fishnets, and that required a bit of a different direction!
I needed something super sexy and revealing *rummages through my Solange! folder* Oh of course! The Highland Hipbanger set; perfect. Can you believe she has the nerve to call those “shorts”?
Did you get a pair of Annyka’s fishnets yet? If you have done any SL clothing design, or even experimented with the av mesh, you may end up on your knees at Anny’s feet worshiping her like a goddess and hoping that she blesses you with some of what she’s got. These are so brilliantly executed and the attention to detail is amazing. They come in 6 styles (and each style normal or ripped) and 12 colors… and you must go try a pair right now… there are demos available. The bra is also from Blowpop as part of the Yvette set.
The Bax boots just barely match, but I think I can get away with it. These are the “red” ones obviously, but the scripting allows for four different shades of red. This is “grape” which leans just a tiny bit in the pink/purple direction, and it’s this kind of scripting that makes me fall in love with these boots every time I wear them. If you own a pair, you know just what I mean.
As I mentioned, this look started with the skin. Hart Larsson’s Luthien is a beautiful pale skin available with a few different lip colors, and with or without the facial tattoo. It is the tattoo design, and the steep-angle eyebrows that appealed to me and inspired me to create the rest of this tough, fantasy look.
I’ve got quite a few piercings in RL so when I decided I wanted to facial jewelry for this shot, I knew exactly what I wanted. After over an hour searching the grid, I realized that it would probably just be easier to learn to torture some ity bity prims and made some myself (though I am kicking myself now for now adding an earring). They aren’t for sale and they are super simple, but if you absolutely must have a set, send me a notecard in world.

I got a little photoshop heavy with parts of these … but I know that you know to try on demos and look at vendors… my photos are always enhanced.
When I got the notice from DoC Eldritch about his latest release, Tyran, I knew it was a must have. I am all about options, and aside from the several options included with the outfit, it’s also got lots of mix ‘n’ match potential. This lingerie/dress/pants set really appeals to the lingerie-on-the-outside fan in me. The focus of the set is the corset top, with garters that lay over the pants. I have also managed to mod this skirt to work with just the glitch pants and attachment, but the intended combination uses a system skirt with the corset seeming to connect to straight black skirt under the semi-transparent prims. I just like my ass too much to hide it in a system skirt!
The full skirt is made of lots of tiered flexi and I love the uneven edges. The skirt required 2 attachment points, and my AO just hates anything attached to my lower spine, but by attaching it to my stomach instead it sit perfectly. Plus, that left room for some of my favorite wings from Material Squirrel.
The other option that doesn’t leave your tush uncovered are the pants that are included in the main set, which includes the Sunset lingerie (shown above) plus the pants and skirt options. The other color lingerie, like Sunrise below can be purchased separately, but as only as the lingerie (corset and panties) alone.
A perfect match for this top are the new Stud Encrusted Heels in gold from Step Ahead. I don’t do them justice in these photos (I’m wearing the black pair, without studs, in the other photos) but they are very well made (and I am very picky with my prim feet.) The shoes come with 2 versions to accommodate what you are going to wear: you have the invisiprims attached to one point and the shoes attached to another, which is becoming a standard, but there are ALSO a pair included that only require one attachment point so you can wear them with pant cuffs. The tops aren’t as finished looking in that version but that is fine because they are under your pants. The HUD is responsive and allows for gold and silver accents, as well as a no-stud option. There are lots of presets and you can make each preset darker, but it doesn’t allow matching your skin tone using RGB values. I think this is a first go at prim feet for these designers so maybe that will come in future releases.

I wanted to choose a skin for these shots that I haven’t worn in a while and PXL’s Kim was just the thing; something about skins from PXL on my face shape always makes me feel a bit exotic. To complete the look is the Ruby’s Fire jewelry set from Phoenix Rising (but only available at Starlight Exclusives) and a tattoo from my all time favorite tattoo artist in SL, Negko. To top it all off, I scored some hair at the fri.day sale; I just love discounts on hair fatpacks.

Every once in a while these past couple of weeks, I pull my head out of Photoshop for a few minutes to see what’s going on, but I have been good and disciplined and quickly get back to the business of working on my own designs. Last night, when I got my hands on the lingerie created by Annyka Bekkers of Blowpop my work came to a halt and El took over and sent a message to Feles “you take pics with me now, you go get blowpop lingerie!” As you can see, it wasn’t a question, it was a demand, and they TPed over to chose colors. When they arrived, Celebrity Trollop was in the process of picking up some fat packs and she only had to hint at being available if we wanted another model before El invited her to join us.
The design of both sets is wonderful, and the attention to detail and the quality of every inch of these sets is so fantastic that if she keeps it up, I think Annyka could become one of the leading lingerie designers in Second Life. The fabrics are rich, the lacy parts bunch up perfectly, and the ribbons are so satiny that I want to reach out and feel how smooth they are. Her extensive experience designing skins has given her an understanding of the avatar, and as a result her work on difficult areas like the inner thigh is neat with almost no distortion, even if you find yourself in a compromising position
The Jolene set (above) comes with the option of the full long corset or without and on multiple layers; the stockings are not included but can be purchased separately and are available at different levels of opacity.
Yvette (below) is a lacy set with just the right amount of transparency. Again, the attention given to the details put this above the norm; the texture, shading and illusion of the of the appliqué is great, and the little cut-out with ribbon in the cleavage and top of the tush is drawn so well that… ok… I admit… I’m little little jealous of Annyka right now.

Every pose set Luth makes is fantastic, and I was so happy to be able to take advantage of her buy-1-get-1 anniversary sale this past weekend. Photographing a set with poses from only one creator can be a challenge when working with multiple avatars, especially when working around props, like the chair in the first photo, or when models wear especially difficult hair. (but let’s face it… we are all willing to do a little extra editing in order to wear hair from Truth, am I right?) We had to do both in-world prim editing as well as some Photoshopping to make things work, so as always, try the demos before you buy to see how hair fits you and where it sticks into you as you move and pose.
For the final image, I was in the mood to do something whimsical, so I dug into inventory for a few props with poses from Studio Sidhe. If you feel an affinity for magical things, these props are a must have.

When Solange Cerveau IMs me and asks “you wanna see what I am workin on?” I pretty much toss anything else I am looking at to the side and wait for her to pass the snapshot. Without exception, what Solange makes I want, and when the picture of the Shalenas silks set rezzed my eyes got wide and it took all my will to refrain from screaming “when can I have one?!?!?!?!!” Luckily, she only made me wait a day 
Shalenas includes quite a few options, like almost everything from Solange. The clothing layers come in both sheer and non-sheer versions, and there are 6 skirt options. Long, short and a sheer version of the short shirt are included, and each of those comes with and without the belt. The belted version, which has some beautifully detailed prim work can be worn with or without the panties if you are feeling bold. The version without the belt is meant to sit as though its attached to the panties, and though I love the design of the belt, I prefer the cut of the panties. The way Solange accommodates different tastes really is one of those things that sets her apart.
The texturing and shading that comes from Solange regularly blows mind. The gathering of the fabric is so well done and you can almost feel the silkiness of the material. Colors chosen for this set are lighter and brighter than her usual palette and perfect for the spring-almost-summer being experienced in my little corner of the globe.
Silks from Solange often come with some matching jewelry: Shalenas includes armbands with stones to match the silks. The simplicity of the armbands is perfect, they are enough to do their job without distracting you away from the beautiful cut and texture of the clothing.

El decided that the other new face from Annyka Bekker’s new Infinity brand was burning a hole in her inventory, as was some new hair, and some new clothing, and some new poses.
The Elizabeth skin from Infinity has a softer face than the Ava which I blogged about yesterday. The body design is the same but the 3 tones of Elizabeth are lighter, you can see the full range here. A generous smattering of freckles on the nose, cheeks and forehead was all El needed to go searching for red hair in her inventory. Magika has such a great range of colors, so many different reds and browns, here El was not in the mood for subtlety!
On El’s most recent trip ro Bare Rose, the Spring Hearts lingerie set grabbed her attention. She bought it and thanked me for giving her a place to wear it because “you know for shit sure no guy is going to put up with me, even if it means I wear sexy lingerie for him.” I love the texture and cut of this more-than-a-bra, not-quite-a-corset top that is sexy on its own and sweet with the baby-doll attachment. The panties and garter/stockings are available on more layers than I generally expect from Bare Rose, a pleasant surprise, and the set includes 3 (maybe 4?) colors.
She finally agreed to change out of her underwear and wanted to keep with the Bare Rose theme. The Rolled Up Sweater is an item that has been sitting in inventory for a few weeks waiting for just the right opportunity and considering El’s penchant for red hair and freckles lately, the green sweater in the set was perfect.
Poses in this shoot are from Cats of a Feather. Tuli passed a landmark to me the other day and after El went down and grabbed some poses I agreed that we should use some for this shoot. The poses are cute and sweet and sassy, just the kind of attitude El looks for. Single poses are just 50L and packs of 6 are 200L.There are some AO poses and animations there too.
The recent challenge to honor our pose makers got me thinking. If I run through a poser with 300 random poses in it and grab a dozen snapshots and then later chose to process 3 of those shots… there is no way I am going to remember what pose is whose most of the time. In the future, when possible, I will try to stick to one or two pose designers per shoot, which will make it much easier to credit them.

I tinted these wings for a shoot I was doing for Material Squirrel to a purple so perfect that I had a hard time considering any change of clothing that would require taking them off. Then, the purple matched my lingerie from my shoot so well that I didn’t want to take that off either, but I can’t just walk around the grid in my underwear. (shut up Feles) What started as a quick “what can I put over this” just to hang around in turned into a look I’d be happy to get stuck in should asset servers fail.
The name “Temp Buttondown” from Sn@tch always gets a giggle from me, because anything open this low is bound to get ripped off, and therefor worn only temporarily It covers me enough to be seen in walkin’ around, but lets me show off my beautiful cleavage bra.
Speaking of cleavage, mine is provided this evening by the fabulous Tuli Asturias and her beautiful new Natalie skin. It usually takes me 3-4 days before I know which makeup is which by name, and Natalie is new, so I had to actually try them all on again, what a pity! When Tuli released her S4 skins a year and a half ago, there were multiple skins in each set, and I remember being in love with the fact that each makeup came with two lip color options. Gala Phoenix did this with her latest release to the delight of all of her fans, and when I realized Tuli’s new release was following that pattern as well I was jumping up and down.
I headed over to the new Material Squirrel build to take some photos; I just love what Kala has done with the place. The new shop build is grand and open and magical, and the grounds are colorful and full of spots for photos. As I was looking around I saw some beautiful sculptures from Yabusaka, and upon closer inspection a vendor for amazing sculpted winged staffs. Oh yeah, this I had to have.
This is one of those shots that makes me want to yell “I LOVE YOU CONTENT CREATORS!!!”

You don’t need a lover as an excuse to buy some new lingerie for Valentine’s Day, or any day for that matter, especially if you are an SL photographer! I had my eye on this set from Bijou for quite a while, but I have been trying to get into the habit of not buying anything unless I see myself wearing it within the next few days. If I probably won’t, I tell myself it will likely still be there when I’m ready for it. Oh but once I decide I’m ready to wear it, I’m at the shop right clicking faster than lightning.
I got some skins from Lazolli to experiment with, and as soon as I put on Kathrin (blush doll) I knew it was time for a trip to get this set and do a shoot. The Kathrin face is sweet and gives me a slight smile, so it feels right to wear it with some flirty, flexy fabric, but it’s also sexy enough to warrant some black lingerie.
The lingerie includes both sheer and solid versions for those of you who are a bit more modest. Completing the look is a fantastic necklace from luc. Aside from the great design, the shadow there is part of the necklace, I did not add that!
Of course, I can’t photograph a new-to-me skin without showing off a fantastic tush!

OMG I don’t even know where to begin, I am a lucky lucky girl.
I’ve been watching the previews of Hart Larsson’s soon-to-be-released Efe skins, and when a blogger’s preview pack appeared in my inventory I immediately began oohing and ahhing. Wow these are gorgeous. The lip shape and texture is different from the previous releases from PXL and the skin tone is beautiful. This first shot shows my favorite makeup up the series, DarkLips GlossyEyes.
These amazing new skins aren’t the only new items gracing my inventory today. *wipes the drool from her lips* I’ve also got the new Kensington boots from Tesla. *jumps up and down*. The shape of these boots is beautiful and smooth, and the texture…. omG the texture… is a shining example of how talented Tesla Miles is. Yeah yeah, I have enhanced the contrast of my photos but I assure you that even without my Photoshop magic, even the white version of the boots is perfectly textured… and white is notoriously difficult to do.
These boots are really versatile, they go very well with just an Armidi vest and nothing on the bottom, and they go very very well with lingerie too. I bet they look good with pants and skirts but, but we didn’t bother trying
I usually prefer more eye makeup than in the following shot, but this look is so beautifully natural that I’ve fallen in love with it. I try to resist the urge to make my photos super big on the blog; anyone who wants to see them larger can check out my flickr stream. However, in the case of a new skin, a larger photo really can show off the texture and detail.

Also, looking back at this set, I feel like I processed these a little light. It wasn’t a conscious thing, I think I have a tendency to bring both light and dark skins a little more towards the middle in order to bring out the detail.

The collection of clothing at Pixeldolls is astounding and frankly, as long as Pixeldolls exists there is absolutely no excuse for not dressing well… or in the case of this post, undressing well. Not only does the PD subscrib-o-matic spoiled its members with gifts, but now over the past few weeks, different areas of the store have been put on sale for 50L to the point where almost the whole store is on sale. Not just older items either, in fact, some of the very oldest items are reduced to 10L.
When it was announced that the lingerie was going on sale it took me about .5 seconds to get down there. I cammed around and came to items from the “New Zero” collection, which I have seen on the walls in Pixeldolls since my first visit there who knows how long ago. I coveted this item for so long… but back then 400L was an impossible price for me to spend on lingerie, and by the time I got more comfortable spending my L$ I had already put it out of my head.
…but there it was, for 50L. I really almost bought all 4 color packs right there on the spot, but I told myself that I should just buy 1 set for now, I was never going to need this corset in 16 colors!
Each (The New Zero) Secret Boudoir set comes with thong, garter, stockings, shirt and 4 corsets. I’m going to love wearing this corset with pants; the “cool” pack I got comes with green, blue, turquoise (pictured above and more like blue on one side, green on the other) and violet (seen below). The edges of the garter belt texture creates the illusion of frills very well and both the garter belt and corset have an iridescent and shiny quality that I love.
I so love when my Moody boots match something like this so perfectly because if you have these boots, you love them, you love that they are color change, but you hate that they don’t match everything you own… is it really too much to ask for? (um, ok, I DO know it’s too much to ask for.)
What else to perfectly accompany a colorful set like this than jewelry with 150 gem color options… twice. The Shards earrings and bracelet from Chloe was available yesterday as a gift for attendees of the store and sim opening (it’s available for purchase now), and is the kind of opening day gift that’s going to make someone come back to shop. There are 2 sets of gems and a color change menu that will let you match these with anything.

I do want to mention that the Secret Boudoir set is a much older item, and is not flawless. Most noticeably, edges of the undershirt such as neckline and sleeves are a bit rough. The quality and variety of the other parts, plus the price, still make this a very worthy purchase if you like the style. The current work produced by Pixeldolls is crafted superbly and I am always confident that my purchases will meet high standards.
Dove Swanson of Long Awkward Pose and Autumn Hykova of Pixel Dust have been working hard on their sim Festivale, a carnival themed sim complete with ferris wheel and carousel. Besides the shops, the sim has tons of great spots for photos whether you pose on one of the props around the sim or set down your own.
With the opening of her new main shop, Dove has some new pose sets available, and when El saw the poses in the Tongue in Cheeky Pose Set she knew they had to be hers. Then, with her new adorable poses, she she needed a new adorable outfit and checked out the shops on the boardwalk. The purple capris from SRU (um, that would be Skanks R Us? though these aren’t very skanky) were a must have. The color is perfect, the texture is rich, and I really like the bunched up sculptie parts with flexi ties.
The top, from Twosome comes with the bra, and matching panties too, on all layers. Included are also some flexi attachments like an itty bitty lingerie-type skirt and a baby doll attachment. In this shot above, El is standing at the entrance to the freakshow tent. The posters on the wall show images of conjoined twins and bearded ladies; there are bleachers to sit on, or… if you are feeling adventurous, you can launch yourself from a cannon.
Also from shops at the Festivale sim are the Izzy hair with beret from Pixel Dust and this choker that El just fell in love with from SRU. To see better detail, click the photo to get to my flickr page, and see “all sizes”
El was walking around looking cute… and then she came across some coveralls from Clobber/Dumpster. The PG rated version is unzipped almost down to her belly button; it is only by the magic of SL double sided tape that it stays up at all.
Then again, maybe that tape doesn’t work so well… I am so sure that these coveralls were made for sex but when El saw them all she could say was “oh man, now I gotta pee.” I ran off to make an appropriate pose for this but SL was being a bish and I couldn’t upload, so El just had to hold it.
Finally, we got our pose into SL and El ran down behind a stone wall to do her business. lol, ok, all juvenile humor aside, I really love the light in this shot.
Great job Dove and Autumn on a wonderful, fun sim. The landscaping is terrific, the environment is fun, and the shops are great.
