I almost never significantly change my shape, but that doesn’t mean I can’t appreciate the hard work of shape designers, like Kaethe Dyrssen of Leafy, who makes THE best cute-sexy shapes I have ever seen. Feles and El and I are very attached to our shapes, but for this post, because of the Skin and Shape Expo happening this week, Feles and El decided to break out of their comfort zone. For this first set, El, in green, is wearing the Bree shape, which debuted at the Expo and which El has been squealing about since she saw it on Kae’s flickr stream last week. Feles, in blue is wearing Circe, one of Kae’s older shapes. You will notice the two very different body shapes here, every Leafy shape comes with about a half dozen body types from very petite to slightly chunky, plus you have mod perms so you can tweak to your heart’s delight.
The poses we are using in the first 3 photos are from Leafy, too. Like her shapes, Kae’s poses are sexy-cute and full of personality. She commented on my flickr that the poses in this next photo make our asses look big… at which time I reminded her that 1. Many of her poses have the ass-sticking-outness quality and I love it, and 2. she has recently told me she likes big tushies. For me, it’s one of the things I find most appealing about this image! Both Feles and El and wearing skins from Pink Fuel, which, judging by the number of posts on the feed, is a big favorite from the Expo. The PF skins and the Leafy shapes look like they were made for one another, in fact Bree was deigned with this skin in mind.
For the second set Feles in red is in Calypso, with a skin from D-skin, one of her many Expo purcahses. She looks so sweet… but I know, it’s only an act 
El wears the Misako shape with a new makeup from Gala Phonix’s Breeze line. El stood at the Skin and Shape Expo for no less than 40 minutes. After everything rezzed, she had to look through inventory to see which makeups and tones would give her the most variety when adding them to her already ridiculous collection. “If I have Breeze and Vixen in Petal, and I want to get a new Breeze and a new Vixen in different tones…. what do I already have in those other tones?” She needed a chart; I did a little research and I should have known that Gogo would be all organized on her flickr.
Kae’s bodies can be both petite and shapely at the same time, there is something both youthful and mature about them, and they seem to have a complex emotional range in their expression…I’m not sure how else to put it. There is something wistful about their expressions that really grabs me. But it can’t be all melancholia with Feles and El! The poses below are from Long Awkward Pose. (all others in this post are from Leafy)
The sets were all made by Feles; she has been putting together these little rooms, perfect for photos, using textures from Accel Foxtrot. His textures are absolutely my favorite on the grid for this type of thing. If I am not shooting outside, I am probably using Accel’s textures in my sets.

oh yeah.. I think I was talking about the identity crisis of photographing shapes. Well, Killer Curves might be far from my everyday SL shape, but if any of the shapes from Scarlia Inc! are most like the RL me, it’s Killer Curves. Most of us aspire to have a slimmer figure, and for me there has always been the desperate attempt to slim down those thighs… but when I shared this photo with a friend earlier today he took a look at that side view and said “oh yeah, that part, right there…”
Creating a beautiful plus size avatar takes a lot more than just upping the body fat sliders. I created a plus size version of my normal shape and there was a lot of tweaking to saddle bags and love handles in order to keep an hourglass shape. Scar does a great job with this and the other curvy and plus size shapes she has created.
I’s been great fun experimenting with which skins fit well on which of the shapes. This has lead to one problem… now I want to go out and get a gazillion skins to photograph… but I’m a picky bish. If you are someone who pays attention to my blog, you probably know what kind of thing piques our interest; if you have any suggestions, please, share your ideas.
the Desert Rose shape:
For this last set, I chose to put El and I in similar skins, similar clothing and, for the last shot, the same pose. I want to illustrate something I mentioned in pt1 of my coverage of shapes from Scalia Inc! and styling us similarly will make that easier. Each shape comes with a “nude” version. Omg I love this; the nude version has the breasts sitting slightly lower and further apart… because you have no bra on to hold ‘em up. Brilliant.
When I told El that for the last set we were going to show the regular vs nude breasts she started to giggle and said “oh oh oh can we do it topless please? and wear curio skins? come oooonnnnn, and can I wear my Lolita hair? it’s my favorite and I know this isn’t my shape but Curio has the best boobs and we are showing boobs and that’s like the skins I always wear so can I wear my favorite hair too huh huh?” I could hardly keep up and just said…. “uh… yeah get dressed and then I’ll follow suit.”
In this last photo, mine are a tad perkier because I am wearing the regular shape; gravity is having more of an effect on El! Can you tell the difference?
photographer’s note: yeah, I photoshop the hell out of my images, and sometimes if a shoulder looks strange at a certain angle or my thighs look too thick or too thin in a certain pose, I will modify it. In this case, because I am showing shapes, all I have done to the shapes themselves is smooth out the typically pointy parts. Also, in order to show them as they are sold I didn’t mod any of the shapes, but they do come with modify permissions.

I’ve never been a shape blogger. I am too attached to mine, and with El, her big-eyed cuteness is so a part of her personality that changing her shape makes her not her anymore. This post though, is all about shape. I stopped into Scarlia Inc! last night to check out some jewelry; they are having a new store grand opening this week and co-owner Alia Whitfield invited me over to see the new place. As I was camming around I saw the wall of shapes created by Scar Ayres and almost went right past it, but something caught my eye. The faces have personality, the shapes are unique. Most of the selection isn’t your typical runway shape… some of them are super buxom and have fantastic booty, some are short and sweet, some have a look of the girl next door, and quite a few are modeled to resemble specific ethnicities.
I began thinking how fun it might be to style and photograph other shapes… and it became a little project.
The Harajuku Girl shape:
Each set of images shows El and I each wearing the same shape, but styled differently. Each shape comes with a styling card if you want the look in the vendor shot… but of course I decided not even to look at the card and see what I came up with. All styling details are at the end of the post, I went with minimal clothing and accessories for simplicity.
The Out of Africa shape:
I already mentioned that I don’t typically purchase or even try on other shapes, but from what I have seen/heard most shapes come with a regular shape and a system skirt shape. Shapes from Scarlia Inc! come with 5 shapes. I understood “barefoot”, “foot size 0″, and “skirt”, but the two named “nude barefoot” and “nude foot size 0″ were a mystery to me so I compared. The “nude” versions have slightly saggier breasts… OMFG that is awesome! Not saggy, but, a little lower and not so close together, ya know, like you took your bra off. That Scar though of everything.
The Grecian Goddess shape:
I’m laughing looking at this photo, because it is El and I… but now I can’t remember who is who, except that I have that hair from Armidi and she doesn’t! Talk about an identity crisis!
