I’m just about ready… been working like mad to get ready for Saturday, when I’ll be opening my store, elymode, at two locations: Crush Row and Winged Isle (home of Material Squirrel!) We’ll be celebrating my launch with a party at noon slt on Saturday, stay tuned for location details (or join the elymode group in world and I’ll send the landmarks out before the party… and maybe some gifts too
). I’ll have some items in limited edition colors available at the party only, so I hope you can make it!

It’s all about the dress
It’s all about the dress (posted by Feles)
Being nominated to the Runway best model list was a surprising honor, particularly for a model like myself working on the fringe and more steeped in the business side these days. Planning what to wear for an event like that is a challenge — 50 stunning women wanting to look unique, showcasing their personal style. I had the perfect date (*makes googly eyes at El), and needed the perfect gown.
My day-to-day style in world tends to range from soccer mom kitteh to just woke up and grabbed what was on top of the clothes basket. But when it comes to formalwear, I want elegant, clean lines and texture that stands alone without the need for heavy accessories.
So I spent a week going through all 150+ formals in inventory, and hunting the lesser known stores for just the right dress. While there are plenty of options, none said, this is THE dress, meaning this is the THE dress a dozen other women won’t be wearing as well.
Then I remembered Solange’s amazing holiday dress and thought, “this would be perfect in a formal version.” A request was sent to creator Solange Cerveau who felt the same way, and she was planning a long version for the holidays. The result is a jaw-dropping empress waist gown that had me giddy and dancing around the grid. I have been gushing over this dress from the moment I put it on. The texture, the flow, the lines. It was exactly what I envisioned myself wearing for this event. In fact, it is exactly what I would want for real world events.
I’ve loved Solange’s work for the care she takes in detail, textures and seams. While she’s known for her flowy silks, seductive lingerie, as well as adorable casuals, selfishly I think she should expand her formal wear line.
The dress will soon be available in an array of colors — I’m wearing mauve. Go, buy, you will be amazed.

momo yaya
As a teacher, my RL job started back up this week, and let’s just say, I miss being able to photograph and blog any time the inspiration hits. With today’s Sweet Shoppe party just hours away, I figured it was finally time to process and post these photos I did early in the week.
Yes, I have been a little ~momo~ obsessed lately, but can you blame me? Besides the fact that Sumomo is the sweetest thing on the grid, her clothing line, only around for a few months now, is some of the most original I have seen. Her style is so sweet in fact, that I usually leave it to my cute sister Elysiana to model, but the Yaya tops Sumomo recently released appeal to all types, not just all you cutie pies out there. Yaya comes in two parts, a strapless top and a short jacket, each in 5 colors to mix and match, or wear alone.
I also want to mention these shorts from Worldwide Industries, they are very….well…..short. It’s hard to get shorts this short to look good, without the denim leaking down your thigh. Besides that, WWI gets extra points for the name “Coochie Cutters”
In this first shot, I went with a skin from Nomine, another designer in today’s party event. There is an amazing range of skins at Nomine, from bloody vampire, to pink bubblegum, to harlequin and yes….even some – gasp!- “normal” skins. This “China White – yurei” was a recent group gift; I am saving my others for the party!
After putting together this outfit, I liked it to much I decided to see how I could create a different mood with the same items. Sticking with hair from Magika, also in today’s event, I LOVE that this braided style is available with braids both in front and back. I have also been looking for an excuse to wear the Warpaint skin from Blowpop (thanks Annyka! awesome gift!) and the colors of ~momo~ gave me just that opportunity. I added some jewelry from Fresh Baked Goods, another participant in today’s Sweet Shoppe party.
The final shot (close your eyes, Jack…you too Thalia) is all about pink. I had so much trouble deciding which Chai skins to buy with my 50% off gift card, that I went right for something totally outside my standard. Pink, pink, pink!
If you have even one ounce of cute in you, head to ~momo~ and check it out. Better yet, come on over to the Second Look Studio Sweet Shoppe at noon slt today, and see our models wearing clothing from ~momo~, skin from Nomine, hair from Magika and jewelry from Fresh Baked Goods. Stay tuned for a SLurl later today or find me in world later for an invite.

Grand Success
Yesterday’s Grand Opening of Second Look Studio on the Raven’s Requiem sim was an absolute blast! Thank you so much to everyone who came down to celebrate with us and support all the businesses located here. Special thanks, also, to Raven Lament for organizing the sim grand opening party.
Break out a dance pole, and you just know HP is gonna hop on; not as sweet as she looks now, is she? Maddox sure planted himself in the right spot. I’m quite sure that if Feles’ internet connection had allowed her to be here for more than 10 minutes, she’d have been dancing on the next pole over! We missed you Feles!
I’m not usually the social party type – I’m way more comfortable working with a model on a portfolio, or creating a set for a shoot – but I really did enjoy yesterdays festivities. Plus, I am in love with this dress, Emotions from DE Designs, and it was nice to have somewhere to actually wear it! You can see a clearer version of it here.
It’s been a crazy past few weeks getting the studio together. We’ve still got a lot of work ahead of us and we’re already in talks for an exciting event in June, but for now, a little rest and relaxation is well deserved. ty, hp for setting me up with a teddy bear for company! (Cover me pillow from Pillow Talk rezzes the blanket when you sit.)
Out of Development and in Production!
Elysium Eilde, Halfpint Pennell and Feles Seitan are proud to announce the formal opening of Second Look Studio.
Please join us today at the Ravens Requiem sim for our grand opening party. DJ, dancing and prizes from 3-5pm slt.
Second Look Studio is a creative agency offering commercial photography and event planning, modeling portfolio photography, and personal/couples photography.
Our style ranges from high fashion to the more eclectic, incorporating fantasy, mythology and other themes into our work.
Founder Ely offers her professional photography services for commercial clients, modeling portfolios and personal/couples shots.
HP and Feles will cover the administrative and publicity responsibilities. The three will collaborate on commercial campaigns and events.
The Second Look Studio chapter begins as another ends. The three of us got our starts at [ida] Imagen Divine Agency, thanks to founder Miabella Foxley, and came to think of ourselves as a family. [ida] will be closing its doors after the completion of a few final projects, and we bring to this new venture that same sense of family and fun. While the transition is bittersweet, we’re excited about the future and our new direction.
Stop by the studio at the Ravenwear sim to view Ely’s work. And be sure to pick up your free gift, a custom photo booth with textures created by Ely. And for anyone interested in modeling, grab an application.
Here’s a Slurl!

of course, I do!
Love in SL was so…unexpected, but then, with so many beautiful and romantic places to spend time, it’s no wonder people connect here.
After a long and wonderful engagement to the love of my SLife, our friends joined us this weekend to celebrate our marriage. With the help of my wedding planner….urm…I mean, my good friend Feles, a custom setting was created using lots of Straylight trees and lights, Pillow Talk benches and even a custom cake (modeled after a cake my family used to get on special occasions!).
Blaze* Celestial Gown – Silver; Chaospire – Moonlace Flexible Faery Wings; Armidi Hair – The Soho – Sangria; []::Tuli::[] S4F olive ~ intrigue 3/nude gloss skin; ~Muse~ Triste Coeur Silver and Diamond Necklace and Earrings; Love Knot-Calla Lillies BRIDE bouquet. On Isten, Blaze* Tuxedo; Blaze*; Tie – Celestial Silver; skin from The Good Life. Tree and hanging lamp from Straylight.
This gown from Blaze is unbelievable. The top uses all three layers: a silver bra undershirt layer, a sheer long sleeve shirt layer and the stars on their own jacket layer. The skirt has a layer of mostly transparent prims with stars on them that make the stars appear to float, and the system skirt creates a similar effect around the hips and legs when the prim skirt is removed
My friends and colleagues will know how unusual it is that I kept my snapshot window closed during the wedding. I took just three photographs during the entire ceremony and reception! Of course, you can bet that before and after it was snap snap snap.
the fun ones are after the cut…
