Decoy is gonna have shoes!
Annette from Decoy mentioned to me recently that she’s been further exploring the Blender application for creating sculpties in SL, and that she is working on a pair of shoes. I know what a perfectionist she is, and she likes to take her time, so I was surprised when she IMed me this evening to tell me she was *almost* done and was going to pass them over to me to see what I thought.
I was hanging with Feles, another Decoy fan, and when I put them on she pretty much squealed with delight. “Annette,” I typed, “Feles is drooling over my shoes!” and poof, Feles had a pair of her own. “Can I take pics of these, or is this a secret?” I asked. “Snap Away!” was her response, so I told Feles, “Get dressed, you know I’m going to shoot this, like, right now…right?”
As I was shooting, Annette told me that if I had any color requests I should make ‘em now; I told her “grape, not purple, grape” which kinda threw her! The resulting color is shown below in an almost unprocessed pic. If you’ve seen my photos, you know I usually process them heavily, but here I want you to see the real thing, as it is, nothin’ artsy fartsy. I lightened the shoe a little bit, but no adding highlights or shadows, that is all Annette’s amazing texturing work.
Each pair of shoes comes with a black trim and laces version as well as white trim and laces. I am sitting here trying to write, but I keep getting distracted by this photo and how beautifully constructed the laces and grommets are.
Annette intends to release these yet-to-be-named shoes by this coming weekend, so you won’t find them in her shop just yet. but if you’ve never been to Decoy, run, don’t walk. Annette makes the best ass jeans, I mean the best jeans in all SL!!!
