Like many of you, I’ve got my favorite skins; the ones I wear almost daily; the ones that make me feel most like “me”. However, I also really like to experiment with photographing a new look so I jumped at the offer from PXL Creations this morning for a chance to preview the updated Linda line.
I decided that if I was going to go this far from my comfort zone, I may as well go all the way, so I chose the darkest skin in the pack, Linda Dark Cat Eyes Dark Lips. Keep in mind that I Photoshop my images heavily; I figure someone else in the blogosphere will photograph these with less processing, and anyway, you’re going to try to demos yourself before you buy anything.
Because the focus of this post is the skin, I wanted clothing that wasn’t going to cover much. DE Designs Outlander in Black has just the right amount of coverage and created a tough mood that said “Apocalypse” to me. (This set also includes 2 tops on the jacket layer and pants on both layers. )
I’m not quite sure what I was looking for the other day when I stumbled upon the Overdrive Island sim; there are shops selling weapons and various other goods here that go along with my apocalyptic mood. I get really excited when I discover a new place that allows the rezzing of objects; in this case my new “benchwarmer” poser with some of Torridwear’s new poses.
I really like the texture and shading on the face, and on the legs and tush, too. I’m not as crazy about the belly area, I feel the line up the middle is a little dark. The shading for the side of the ab muscles seems too rounded (like a perfect U) where it should conform to the muscles underneath. Who am I kidding though, I’d kill for that kind of definition in RL.
