El was rejected as a hair fair blogger… it’s no surprise as she rarely blogs on her own anymore and I was already accepted; just because I see us as 2 different people doesn’t mean everyone else does! So last night, when my dear Annette Voight asked if El wanted to join her as a guest, El began running around in circles in my mind saying “PLEASE Ely!!!! I know you have work to do but PLEASE?!?!?!” How could I refuse?
She was happy to report that many of the new releases at hair fair highlight just how creative designers can be. Check out this style by Sabina Gully of Magika, it’s got the usual adorable Magika style with a unique twist:
El ended the night with over a dozen new hairs in her inventory, and while she tried to convince me to photograph them all this morning, I had to limit her to two. It was a tough choice but this amazing long long long hair from booN won out over the others.
To wear the full hair requires a second attachment on the stomach but chances are you aren’t going to be wearing a lot of other things with this hair anyway! You can also attach just the upper part if you want, and it’s still wild and fun. One warning though, if you want to photograph it, you are going to have to work for it. Even after finding a pose that worked, El had to bring her bewb sliders down to 35.

I’ve been so lucky lately with fantastic projects to work on, but I really wanted to do some fun pics with Feles so *blows the dust off the blog* with the release of the new Elle skins from Belleza I told Feles to look in her inventory and pick out something she’d like to wear for photos. She said something about the “yummy textures” of the latest release from Hot Mood, so we added some wings from Material Squirrel and had a little fun.
The new skins from Belleza are, as you have surely already seen, beautiful. A little less femme fatale than Jesse, not as sweet as Allyson, and a little bit exotic– I love how you can tell these are Belleza skins, but they have their own personality. The strong cheekbones create wonderful structure; I am always amazed at how the subtle things a creator can do to the texture can totally change your look. I’m in love with the lips and the makeup options are fantastic. Be careful though, if you haven’t already been skin shopping: the skins can be purchased with blond, brown OR black brows, not all together in one pack. When you head down there make sure you wait for everything to rez so you purchase the right ones.
Sweet Dots from Hot Mood comes with 2 wear options (yay love options!) There is the full bodysuit shown above, but there is also a short tank version (with matching panties/short shorts not shown). I couldn’t resist sneaking in a little *elymode* because I just love the way these skirts move. I think Feles was quietly mocking me during this shot; demons don’t frolic in glowy fields of flowers, demons don’t wear magenta, yellow and orange together (which I made her wear). I don’t think she’s laughing at me now… we look fantastic.
I don’t usually focus on the shoes and give them their own photo but… I’m so in love with both these pairs I couldn’t resist. Mae, from Stiletto Moody are shiny and unique and I love the color. The older “Badseed Red” Moodys in my inventory are much brighter, lighter, verging on deep pink, and I was happy to see, both on the vendor photo and then when I put them on, that the newer Badseed is darker and richer. Feles put on her shoes from YS&YS and I fell in love and decided I’d buy a pack of my own the next day, but I didn’t have to. My dear RubyStarlight had the fatpack sent to me for my rezzday <3

It’s been a long time since El and Feles had some photo time together, but with some of Kala Bijoux’s beautiful new sculpted wings in their inventories it was time to put a photoshoot on the top of the to-do list. The Twig Fairy wings and Raphael Angel wings gave them a great base to build their looks around.
They ran off to our favorite fantasy clothing store, because we knew that Delora Starbrook of Haven Designs would have just the thing. Her cuts are always unique and sexy, her fabrics are rich and her flexi has just the right amount of movement.
I really love how the two of them can stick to one photo’s theme, but each bring to it their strong personalities; anyone who knows El and Feles knows just how perfectly their personalities are expressed here. El is full of whimsy with a little bit of sass mixed in (hah a little?) so the asymmetrical cut and slightly tattered flexi of Haven’s Tink was an obvious choice. Feles was a bit undecided, but El pushed her towards the Qadesh silks in red, which is almost as fierce as Feles herself.
Also worth a special mention is this post is El’s jewelery from Illusions. She acquired the Hedera set a few pieces at a time, and is still kicking herself in the ass for not just buying the whole set when it debuted at the jewelry fair. The ivy wraps around arms and legs and neck, and is perfectly sculpted and textured. The actual color of the leaves is green, but El was able to tint the leaves blue to match her look.

If you follow the feeds with any regularity, you probably have seen me blog about Decoy a few (dozen) times. As you may have heard, Annette Voight lost her mind yesterday, and marked down almost everything in her new main shop by 50%. The items she didn’t mark down… are free. Fatpacks of boots and hair and dresses and shirts… free. I told her that I was actually disappointed that I had everything bc I was missing the excitement! I knew that because of this crazy sale, the blogs were probably going to be full of photos of Decoy clothing, and I was just going to let that go by without my participation, there’s nothing there I haven’t blogged!
I couldn’t let it go… but what to do? I got it… *vintage* Decoy. Sorry, you can’t buy most of these items anymore; this is me reminiscing about the days when Annette shared her first releases with me and I just knew she was going to make it big. (hey Annette, I still have a lm to your place at the Bomb Factory!)
Time is very important to consider here. The Earth Fae set, The Autumn Comfort top, and the Promise jeans all made their way into my inventory around the fall of ’07. The texturing, the shading and the depth of these items was extraordinary for the time, and still hold up to today’s standards. well, ok, maybe not the non-sculpted prim cuffs!
“May I present to you,” El said, “the best ass in all SL!” No, not mine… Annette’s! When she released these jeans they became my standard jeans, the only others I’d even consider back then were from Last Call. I always joke with Annette that I love her ass… because I do think she makes the best tush.
In the last shot, El is wearing another discontinued set, In Suspension. It came with the pants and suspenders in a few colors and a white tank. Plus, of course, a great ass. Yes, those are system flares… hey, it was 2007.
The last item I am mentioning, the green dress in the photo below, has not been retired. It’s been around for a while, and the shading and wrinkles are impressive still today. So why include it? Because she named it Elysium. I was so flattered when she named this dress for me, such a simple gesture, but it meant so much to me.
Feles… forgive me for doing this without you, but I got the bug and just had to.

When I got the notice from DoC Eldritch about his latest release, Tyran, I knew it was a must have. I am all about options, and aside from the several options included with the outfit, it’s also got lots of mix ‘n’ match potential. This lingerie/dress/pants set really appeals to the lingerie-on-the-outside fan in me. The focus of the set is the corset top, with garters that lay over the pants. I have also managed to mod this skirt to work with just the glitch pants and attachment, but the intended combination uses a system skirt with the corset seeming to connect to straight black skirt under the semi-transparent prims. I just like my ass too much to hide it in a system skirt!
The full skirt is made of lots of tiered flexi and I love the uneven edges. The skirt required 2 attachment points, and my AO just hates anything attached to my lower spine, but by attaching it to my stomach instead it sit perfectly. Plus, that left room for some of my favorite wings from Material Squirrel.
The other option that doesn’t leave your tush uncovered are the pants that are included in the main set, which includes the Sunset lingerie (shown above) plus the pants and skirt options. The other color lingerie, like Sunrise below can be purchased separately, but as only as the lingerie (corset and panties) alone.
A perfect match for this top are the new Stud Encrusted Heels in gold from Step Ahead. I don’t do them justice in these photos (I’m wearing the black pair, without studs, in the other photos) but they are very well made (and I am very picky with my prim feet.) The shoes come with 2 versions to accommodate what you are going to wear: you have the invisiprims attached to one point and the shoes attached to another, which is becoming a standard, but there are ALSO a pair included that only require one attachment point so you can wear them with pant cuffs. The tops aren’t as finished looking in that version but that is fine because they are under your pants. The HUD is responsive and allows for gold and silver accents, as well as a no-stud option. There are lots of presets and you can make each preset darker, but it doesn’t allow matching your skin tone using RGB values. I think this is a first go at prim feet for these designers so maybe that will come in future releases.

I wanted to choose a skin for these shots that I haven’t worn in a while and PXL’s Kim was just the thing; something about skins from PXL on my face shape always makes me feel a bit exotic. To complete the look is the Ruby’s Fire jewelry set from Phoenix Rising (but only available at Starlight Exclusives) and a tattoo from my all time favorite tattoo artist in SL, Negko. To top it all off, I scored some hair at the fri.day sale; I just love discounts on hair fatpacks.

Sometimes I forget my SL roots: within two weeks of entering the world of SL I had horns and wings and dressed in a lot of red and black and fancied myself as a beautiful succubus. A recent reminder planted a seed in my head and I’ve been waiting for just the right outfit to break out those horns for; I found it in DE Designs Feral. I even dug into my inventory for the first wings I ever owned: Draconis from Material Squirrel.
DoC Eldritch has such a way with textures, the wrinkles and gathers and grommets are wonderfully rendered and shaded in a way that give the material real weight. The panties are on their own layer so you can were them separately if the single-leg, bare-ass pants are just not revealing enough for you. Beware tattoo lovers, the pants will use up your jacket, pants AND sock layer… so the only way you are getting tattoo on your lower body is if you are prepared to go commando. You do get the top on the shirt and undershirt layer, so upper body tattoos or some additional clothing can be worn.
To keep with the winged theme I went with something avian to match the “natural leather” version of Feral. Ember are my favorite bird wings, bold and strong, and are a fantastic example of the amazing texturing that Kala Bijou is capable of. I think most people know her for her demon and fairy style wings, but she does beautiful work with feathers too.
If you have an empty 30m x 30m space, and 200something available prims on your land, the Ciorcal Pavillion from Trompe Loeil is a great addition to your landscape. The round pavilion with stained glass panels comes in blues, reds, and greens and would be a fantastic area for a wedding reception, a drum circle, or a human sacrifice! sorry… that’s the succubus in me

All of us have some favorite some shops in SL that create the “gotta have it” feeling in us with every new release. Haven Designs consistently does that to us, especially El, who hovers near me making grabby hands at the photos and whining “I knoooowwww you have work to do but loooooookit!!!” She’s a bad influence, that one. El had her eye on the Selah set and brought me over to Haven to look at colors, and I just had to get Roewan for myself.
I love the fabrics, textures and colors Delora uses, the cut and design of each set is unique, and the quality of every item is fantastic. Both sets come on multiple layers and can be worn without the attachments for different looks. Roewan even has an alternate version without the midsection that makes a great bikini.
The hair in these shots is Zoey from Annette Voight. If you are a long-time member of the Decoy update group, you may have it, but if not you will be able to purchase an updated version of this style at the upcoming hair fair! Zoey is one of my favorite up-dos on the entire grid, and weighing in at only 41 prims, this is my standard hair for high lag events.
The Night Fairy and Evadne wings from Material Squirrel seen here will make their debut at the Fantasy Faire starting next week along with 3 other new styles in multiple colors. I have been a huge fan of Kala’s work since my early days and she is one of those designers that I still get a little fangirl about, even though I’ve gotten to know her. If you don’t own any wings in SL, I urge you to head down to her shop or her booth at the faire and check it out. You don’t have to RP fairies or demons to wear wings you know.
